A 15-year-old boy has been stabbed and dozens of youths have been involved in violent brawls following out-of-control parties overnight.

Easter holidays seemed to attract a large number of out-of-control celebrations, forcing police to apprehend youths around the metropolitan area on Saturday night, including a group of 50 who were found fighting with weapons.


About 8.40pm police attended a park in Serpentine Gardens, where around 50 youths were fighting with weapons.

Five police vehicles were called to the scene, where a number of bottles were thrown at police.

Several juveniles were apprehended and eventually returned to their parents.


About 6.30pm police were advised by residents of a large birthday party being held in Wellstead Way in Coodanup.

Neighbours were concerned because of the increasing noise from the event.

Police attended to find the event was orderly and relatively quiet. However, some time later at least 100 people had spilled out onto the street and were fighting, throwing bottles and damaging property.

Seven police vehicles, a dog squad and foot patrols dispersed the crow and four people were charged with disorderly behaviour.


A large party in Covington Street, Success got out of control around 8.40pm after 100 youths at the party were street drinking, swearing and blocking traffic.

A 15-year-old youth received a puncture wound to his chest and was taken to Fremantle Hospital for treatment for a non life-threatening injury.

Nine police vehicles attended and ordered the youths to leave.


About 9.40pm a group of 30 youths were walking down Alcock Street in Maddington, disrupting local traffic, fighting and confronting residents.

Police said the group had left a large party in Carisbrooke Street, Maddington.

Fourteen police cars attended the area and charged two people with disorderly behaviour.


About 11.15pm police were called to disperse a group of about 25 youths in Stradbroke Gardens in Ridgewood, who were fighting, throwing bottles, confronting residents and damaging property.

The youths later moved to a nearby park where they threw bottles and rocks at passing vehicles.

By the time police attended the youths had dispersed into surrounding areas.
